Environment and Natural Resources Division oversaw 4,000 matters.
In commemoration of Earth Day, the Justice Department released the accomplishments made in the Fiscal Year 2021 by their Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD). The ENRD participated heavily in the administration’s “whole-of-government” response to climate change, investigating civil crimes and enforcing penalties against those who illegally harvest timber, fill wetlands, and tamper with floodplain control.
“ENRD has an incredibly important mission to protect public health and welfare by enforcing the nation’s environmental laws,” said Assistant Attorney General Todd Kim of the Environment and Natural Resources Division. “I am proud to serve alongside the remarkable attorneys and staff who dedicate their professional lives to advancing the interests of the American people in environmental and natural resource matters.”
